Listening Session: New Jersey Age-Friendly Task Force
***NOTICE: Spaces for the March 14th listening session are now filled. If you wish to speak, please enroll in the session scheduled March 21st or email a written testimony to DoAS.AgeFriendlyNJ@dhs.nj.gov with the subject "Testimony". Thank you for your participation!***

In March 2021, Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 227, which established the Age-Friendly State Advisory Council, which is tasked with helping the Department of Human Services develop a blueprint for advancing age-friendly practices within the State.

An important part of this development process will be hearing from residents about their experiences with aging in New Jersey and their thoughts on how to make the State a more age-friendly place. The council will be holding two listening sessions in March 2023 via Zoom to hear from people interested in giving their input on how New Jersey can create and foster livable communities for people of all ages, facilitate best practices for age-friendly employment and civic participation, and promote community inclusion that addresses disparities experienced by older adults.

If you would like to register for a listening session, pick one of the dates below. Speaking slots will be given on a first come, first serve basis, so please try to attend the session for its entire duration so you do not miss your window. (If you are scheduled to be among the first to speak, we will send an email to let you know.)

If you would like to attend the listening session but not provide a testimony, the sessions will be broadcast live on the NJ Department of Human Services YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3tlkeAJHd2Cu-IKHZ_zfzg). We encourage you to share this link to anyone who may be interested in hearing what older New Jerseyans have to share about how to make the State more age-friendly.

We ask that remarks be kept under three (3) minutes in length to accommodate as many speakers as possible.
